Art Journal Challenge - Colourful

I created this layout for the June art journal challenge at JessicaSprague.com . The theme this month was colourful.

 

 

Brush*Abilities Class Lesson 11 - make a brush set

For lesson 11 we were to create a brush set with a preview into a zip folder. I have decided to upload my preview here and have decided to give you guys access to the brush set on 4shared.com. Here's the preview:

Brush*Abilities Class Lesson 10 - make a brush from a scanned image

Lesson 10 was to create a brush from a scanned image.

 

Brush*Abilities Class Lesson 9 - stitching

Lesson 9 had us taking the tag we created in lesson 8 and adding stitches to it using a single stitch brush. We then were to create a tag of a different shape, ink the edges and add a directional jitter stitch.

 

Brush*Abilities Class Lesson 8 - tag with inked edges

Lesson 8 had us creating a tag using the custom shape tool. We then inked the edges with a brush.

 

Brush*Abilities Class Lesson 7 - Putting It All Together

For lesson 7 we were to create a scrapbook page using four of the techniques which we have learned so far. I created a grungy photo mask, I added text with a gradient layer, I made a custom embellishment using the custom shape tool, and I added sanding using brush to my embellishment.

Brush*Abilities Class Lesson 5 - Clipping Mask & Text

Lesson 5 in the Brush*Abilities Class had us creating a grunge photo mask to use with a clipped in photo, and had us adding a text brush with a gradient layer.

 

Brush*Abilities Lesson 4 - frame

For lesson 4 we were to use three different types of brushes to create a png frame and then place it over a photo.

Brush*Abilities Class Midweek Challenges #1 & #2

The midweek challenge was to use the various techniques learned in lessons 1 - 3 to create these:

Brush*Abilities Class Lesson 3 - element

Lesson 3 had us creating an element using the custom shape and elipse tools and the eraser loaded with a sanding brush, as well as some text. Here's my element:

 

 

Brush*Abilities Class Lesson 2 - Wall Art

Lesson 2 for this class was to create an 8x8 piece of wall art using patterned paper, a journaling brush, a chalk brush and text.

 

Brush*Abilities Class Lesson 1

I've started taking a new class at JessicaSprague.com called Brush*Abilities. Love love love her classes. I have learned so much in the classes I have already taken and can't wait to learn new things about the brush tool in this class. Here's my completed project for lesson #1. It's a 6x6 card where I learned to add a stroke to a brush and learned about jitter and scattering. I think it turned out pretty cute!
